C LAZY U RANCH

SSA developed the master plan for this expansive ranch to manage the circulation and redevelopment of the entire property. Top goals for the project included creating a common architectural vernacular consistent with the C Lazy U Ranch style to tie all of the buildings together; upgrading the main Patio House and guest cabins; and employing green building principles by on-site milling of forest materials killed by the pine beetles for use in the exterior and interiors of the guest cabins.

The renovation of the Patio House, which is the central recreational facility for the ranch, consolidated all of the following diverse functions:

Concierge, guest services and lounge area
Multi-purpose conference and activity room with a stage for performances
Food service area that includes a bar, grill and ice cream station
Children’s center designed to serve children three to six years in age
Game room including air hockey, ping pong, snooker and pinball machines

In addition to the cabin renovations, a new, rustic retreat overlooking the lake and Continental Divide serves as a picturesque outdoor gathering area with cooking and restroom facilities.
