DIAGONAL PLAZA AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Diagonal Plaza was designed by Stephen Sparn Architects in 1982 for the Boulder Housing Authority (currently Boulder Housing Partners) and was Boulder's first permanently affordable solar housing project.  The complex is comprised of 5 buildings, each containing 6 townhomes all oriented to make the most maximum use of the sun. The basic design incorporated both passive and active solar systems.  The The entire project was upgraded to incorporate a Solar PV system this year from a grant from the Colorado Housing Finance Authority.  The project is 28 years old and is still functional in both style and function
