FIRE REBUILDING SERVICES

Watching the Fourmile fire grow from 200 acres to 7,100 acres the first day, we felt a sense of shock and vulnerability. As long time Boulder residents, many of our friends and family members were evacuated and faced with choosing which of their belongings to take, and which to leave behind. As the fire reached containment, we were grateful and relieved for all the homes saved, yet deeply saddened by the tragic losses our friends and community members have suffered as victims of the Fourmile Fire.

As our community begins the rebuilding process, SSA would like to offer our architecture and planning services to those affected by the fire. SSA will provide a free initial consultation for any fire victim to assess their rebuild needs.

SSA is a full service firm that has specialized in residential architecture in Boulder for more than 30 years. We have created hundreds of innovative residential designs that have been contributing to the fabric of both the City of Boulder and the Boulder mountain community for decades.

We look forward to assisting you.

Sincerely,

Stephen Sparn, AIA

Can Your Home Survive a Fire in Your Neighborhood?

Now is a good time to explore this question and make changes that will ensure your answer to this question is "YES!"

Recent events remind us that Boulder is a fire prone community. Even if you have not been directly impacted by recent fires, there are a number of actions you can take to make sure your home is better able to withstand a potential fire in the future.

Stephen Sparn Architects can help you with this process. We can:

  • Evaluate your home for potential "weak links" that could make your home more susceptible during a future fire & suggest strategies to remove these weak links
  • Make roofing and exterior finish recommendations to increase the fire resistant nature of these key elements of your home
  • Review fire resistant solutions to improve your outdoor living spaces (decks, patios, etc.)
  • Provide viable solutions to attic ventilation that protect your home from fire infiltrations
  • Evaluate windows and weatherstripping to insure protection from smoke and injury in a fire event.
  • Assist with Wildfire Mitigation Plan
